Arriving/Leaving Lessons

 

• Ensure you arrive and leave your lesson on time to avoid contact with other students/parents.

• If you drop off/collect a child, ensure you are ready to collect the child on time.

• Avoid knocking on door. Instead, ring my mobile (07895228670) when you arrive.

• Parents: Wait at end of path when dropping off/collecting. and wait at the end of the path for me to open the door.

• Students: After ringing me and receiving the OK to enter the house, let yourself in, sanitize your hands in the hallway (sanitizer will be provided on hallway window-sill) and then come into the living room.

• If you are unable to use your phone to ring me on arrival, sanitize your hands before and after knocking and maintain 2 metre distance when entering the house.

 

There will be 10-minute gaps between each lesson to allow me to disinfect doors, piano, piano stool, bathroom etc. between lessons and to avoid contact with others.

 

 

Sheet Music

 

There will be no shared sheet music. All students must arrive with their own book. If you do not have a book / you are close to finishing your book, please tell me so that I can advise you which book to buy.

 

Prior to the lesson, so that I am able to give feedback on your piece and comment on features on the score, please send me a photograph of your music. Without doing so, it will be very difficult to maintain a 2 metre distance during the lesson as I will not be able to see the music you/your child is reading from.

 

Those using iPads must bring their own.

 

 

Payment

 

Payment must be made via bank transfer to avoid transmission of coronavirus. Please ensure that you pay on the date indicated on the invoice sheet as the piano lessons are my primary source of income and when several people do not pay on time, it impacts and my family and I, financially.

 

 

PPE

 

PPE, including face coverings, are not necessary, but are optional.

 

 

Steps I am taking to manage the situation:

​

• As the living room does not have any windows, I will keep the hallway door open. I will also open the patio doors and dining room doors and windows between lessons to ventilate the room. When my family are not in the house, I will keep both doors open with dining room windows open. The bathroom window will be kept open.

• The piano and piano stool will be cleaned with disinfectant wipes between each lesson. The door handles (including external door handle) and bathroom will be cleaned with bleach. The toilet will be cleaned whenever used, including if used by my family.

• I will perform demonstrations on a second piano to maintain 2 metre distancing and to avoid sharing the piano.

• Side to side positioning rather than face to face.

• No physical contact

• Hand sanitizer provided in entrance hallway.
